Accessibility
Our commitment, where we are, and how to tell us we're falling short.
Standards we target
UPick targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA on the website and Apple's Accessibility Programming Guide on iOS. Both are works in progress; we treat accessibility as a release criterion, not a backlog item.
iOS app — what works today
- VoiceOver labels on every actionable element (swipe directions, buttons, navigation tabs).
- Dynamic Type support — text scales with iOS Settings → Display & Brightness → Text Size.
- Reduce Motion respected — match-celebration animations soften when the system flag is on.
- High-contrast palette tested at 4.5:1+ for body text.
- Haptic feedback used in addition to (not instead of) visual cues for swipe outcomes.
Known gaps we're working on
- Swipe gestures are the default. Voice Control alternative actions (button-driven swipes) are partial — we're expanding coverage.
- Some streaming-service brand pills use color alone; symbol-plus-color labeling is rolling out by tier.
Tell us
If you hit an accessibility issue — VoiceOver mis-reads, contrast failures, scaling glitches, anything — email [email protected]. We treat these as P0 bugs.
